About the position

Epic Special Education Staffing is seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team for the 2024 - 2025 school year. This position is based in Winchester, VA, and is designed for individuals who are committed to making a significant impact in the lives of students with special needs. As a Special Education Teacher, you will work closely with students across various grade levels, including Kindergarten, Elementary School, Middle School, and High School. Your role will involve developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), collaborating with other educators and support staff, and providing a supportive learning environment that fosters growth and development for all students. In this full-time position, you will be expected to work 37.5 hours per week on-site. You will have the opportunity to leverage your skills and experience to create engaging lesson plans, assess student progress, and adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of your students. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
  • Collaborate with other educators and support staff to create a supportive learning environment.
  • Assess student progress and adapt teaching methods to meet diverse needs.
  • Create engaging lesson plans that cater to various learning styles.
  • Provide support and guidance to students in both academic and social settings.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and needs.

Requirements

  • 1 year of verifiable, professional experience as a Special Education Teacher within the last 3 years (may include residency or clinical practicum).
  • Valid Special Education Teacher credential/license or in process in the state of practice.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.

  • Experience working with students across multiple grade levels.
