About the position
The Education Technician III - Behavior Program position at MSAD #11 is designed for a compassionate individual dedicated to supporting a student with specific behavioral needs. This role involves collaboration with teachers and therapists to ensure the student's successful inclusion in the classroom and to provide emotional and educational support during school hours.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to ensure the successful inclusion and support of the student.
- Assist the student in navigating the physical and emotional aspects of their disorder during school hours.
- Implement strategies to minimize barriers to learning and facilitate active participation in classroom activities, as the student can tolerate.
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and service providers to implement a comprehensive support plan for the student.
- Be attentive to the emotional well-being of the student, offering encouragement and support as needed.
Requirements
- Education Technician III (023) Certification
- Current CHRC authorization through State of Maine Department of Education
