About the position

The Education & Training Vendor Manager at BakerRipley is responsible for overseeing vendor relationships and managing procurement processes related to education and training services for high-skill, high-growth occupations. This role involves creating and maintaining relationships with vendors, negotiating contracts, and ensuring compliance with policies and regulations. The position requires strategic oversight of procurement activities and collaboration with various stakeholders to achieve departmental goals.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and guide personnel in selecting Education and Training vendors.
  • Create and maintain relationships with vendors/suppliers.
  • Estimate and establish budgets for purchases.
  • Review all vendors and suppliers.
  • Maintain purchase records and other important data.
  • Negotiate pricing and supply contracts.
  • Assist in overseeing procurement activities in a sound and ethical manner.
  • Provide oversight to all solicitation activities.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Review purchasing processes for compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Manage project lists and prepare reports to measure departmental output.
  • Assist with the preparation and monitoring of the Procurement Services budget.
  • Plan and implement long-range goals and objectives and monitor progress.
  • Review and distribute sole source requests to procurement staff.
  • Develop and conduct Procurement procedures training sessions for staff and suppliers.
  • Conduct market research and guide the solicitation process.

Requirements

  • Senior level experience in procurement or vendor management.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience in contract management.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective vendor relationships.
  • Knowledge of purchasing practices and compliance with regulations.
  • Experience in budget estimation and financial management.
  • Strong analytical skills for preparing and analyzing reports.
