About the position
The Educational Assistant at Centennial Elementary School is responsible for supporting teachers and students in various classroom activities, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment. This role involves supervising students during free time and recess, assisting with instructional materials, and maintaining records of student performance.
Responsibilities
- Dictates prepared materials to students.
- Oversees group practices and committee work.
- Supervises free time/recess and other activities.
- Assists teacher with classroom activities.
- Secures and puts away instructional materials needed by the teacher.
- Records grades, scores tests and written work that do not require subjective evaluation.
- Takes precautions to provide for the health and safety of students and protect equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Reports any information regarding abuse to the appropriate administrator or social service agency.
- Responsible for district keys as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to assist in classroom activities and support student learning.
- Willingness to attend classes related to the assignment.
- Obtain a criminal history background and fingerprint check.
- Obtain a First Aid and CPR card.
