About the position

The Educational Development Coordinator position at Oakland University is a part-time, temporary role focused on enhancing professional development offerings for faculty and graduate students. The coordinator will design and implement programs, create online learning modules, and collaborate with various stakeholders to promote inclusive and effective teaching practices.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement professional development programs tailored to the needs of graduate students.
  • Collaborate with faculty and campus partners to align programming with institutional priorities and student success initiatives.
  • Organize and facilitate workshops and seminar events.
  • Develop self-directed online learning modules based on existing CETL programming.
  • Use Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles to promote accessibility and inclusivity.
  • Incorporate interactive and engaging content to enrich the learning experience.
  • Work closely with CETL staff to support ongoing initiatives.
  • Collaborate with campus partners, including the Graduate School, to ensure programming addresses the needs of the learning community.
  • Assist in evaluating and assessing program effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience in program development and coordination, preferably in a higher education setting.
  • Strong understanding of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles and inclusive teaching practices.
  • Proficiency in creating digital content and using online learning platforms.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong task management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with graduate students or in graduate student services.
  • Familiarity with current trends in teaching and learning, including the use of technology in education.
