The position involves assisting students individually and in groups with their social, behavioral, and educational needs as advised by the teacher. The role requires performing both instructional and non-instructional duties in various classroom settings, including self-contained, resource rooms, or regular education classrooms. Additionally, the position entails meeting the medical, hygienic, physical, and global needs of the children, which includes assisting school nurses with diaper changing and toileting, addressing related medical and hygiene needs, and transporting non-ambulatory students in wheelchairs within and outside the school building. The individual will also assist students during recess and other school-related activities, as well as during transportation to and from vehicles. Maintaining ethical behavior and confidentiality regarding student information is crucial, along with performing other duties assigned by the teacher or administrator, such as lunch and recess duty.
