About the position

The Educational Technology Coach plays a crucial role in enhancing teaching and learning through the effective integration of technology in educational settings. This position involves collaborating with district staff to develop technology-enhanced lessons and curricula, while also shaping a vision for technology integration across the district. The coach will work closely with various stakeholders to evaluate and recommend technology initiatives that support educational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Model and facilitate appropriate use of educational technology.
  • Assist district staff in developing lesson plans and curricula that utilize technology.
  • Collaborate with district leadership to shape a vision for technology integration.
  • Identify, evaluate, and recommend current and emerging technology initiatives that improve education.
  • Support a welcoming and affirming environment, treating all individuals with respect and dignity.
  • Integrate technologies into classroom and learning environments.
  • Build relationships with teachers and administrators across multiple sites.
  • Present and communicate effectively to various audiences, including students, adults, and the community.

Requirements

  • NYS Teaching Certification (Permanent or Professional) OR Educational Technology Specialist Initial or Professional Certification.
  • Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficient with Microsoft, Google, Nearpod, coding software, robotics, AR & VR, Macs, PCs, Chromebooks, tablets, etc.
  • Knowledge of ISTE and New York State Learning Standards, including Computer Science & Digital Fluency Standards.
  • Experience utilizing SAMR, TPACK, TIM, or equivalent Ed Tech frameworks.
  • Familiarity with Federal, State, and local laws (CIPA, COPPA, FERPA, DASA, Ed Law 2d) regarding student data privacy and security.
  • Familiarity with Internet safety instruction.
