About the position

The Educational Technology Coach plays a crucial role in enhancing teaching and learning through the effective integration of technology in educational settings. This position involves collaborating with district staff to develop curriculum and lessons that utilize technology, while also shaping a vision for technology integration across the district. The coach will work closely with leadership to identify and recommend technology initiatives that improve educational outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Model and facilitate appropriate use of educational technology.
  • Assist district staff in developing lesson plans and curriculum utilizing technology.
  • Collaborate with district leadership to shape a vision for technology integration.
  • Identify, evaluate, and recommend current and emerging technology initiatives that improve education.
  • Support a welcoming and affirming environment, treating all with respect and dignity.
  • Integrate technologies into classroom and learning environments.
  • Learn new technologies eagerly and effectively.
  • Support special education students and English Language Learners.
  • Deliver strong presentations and communicate effectively with various audiences.
  • Build relationships with teachers and administrators across multiple sites.

Requirements

  • NYS Teaching Certification (Permanent or Professional) or Educational Technology Specialist Initial or Professional Certification.
  • Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficient with Microsoft, Google, Nearpod, Coding software, Robotics, AR & VR, Macs, PCs, Chromebook, Tablets, etc.
  • Knowledge of the ISTE and New York State Learning Standards including the Computer Science & Digital Fluency Standards.
  • Experience utilizing the SAMR, TPACK, TIM, or equivalent Ed Tech frameworks.
  • Familiarity with Federal, State and local laws (CIPA, COPPA, FERPA, DASA, Ed Law 2d) regarding student data privacy and security.
  • Familiarity with Internet safety instruction.
