About the position

The Vice President of Portfolio Management at Truist Bank is responsible for managing the overall credit quality, risk mitigation, workout processes, and ensuring operational and regulatory compliance associated with Truist's AFG business. This role involves analyzing and structuring financial covenants, underwriting corporate credit risks for clients utilizing AFG securitization loan facilities, and performing ongoing portfolio monitoring and management. The total portfolio managed is approximately $14 billion in commitments, encompassing around 350 relationships, including left leads, participations, and sole bank transactions. In this position, the VP will work closely with Truist clients, AFG Originations, and Coverage Bankers to underwrite corporate credit risk. The role requires active collaboration with various functional groups to ensure that AFG meets its revenue, PPNR, credit quality, and other financial objectives. The VP will also be responsible for managing and mitigating credit risk associated with portfolio transactions, ensuring timely and accurate completion of annual reviews, amendment memos, and compliance requirements. Additionally, the VP will attract, retain, and develop a team of top credit professionals while adhering to Truist's policies and regulatory requirements. The role also involves restructuring or resolving troubled credits with input from risk partners and managing ABL credit, operational, and market risk within pre-approved risk tolerance levels. The VP will work with originations, structuring, legal, compliance, and risk partners to align strategic objectives and facilitate seamless execution, all while demonstrating Truist's culture and values.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and mitigate credit risk of portfolio transactions.
  • Complete on-time, accurate, well-articulated annual reviews, amendment memos, trend cards, and CLAR's; maintain MRA quarterly spreads/PRISM grade reviews; maintain credit files and other compliance requirements such as monthly tickler attestations and quarterly/annual credit file reviews.
  • Attract, retain, and develop a team of top credit professionals.
  • Understand and adhere to various Truist and ABL policies, processes, procedures, and regulatory requirements; ensure policies and controls are executed; timely completion of all required Corporate and Business unit training/testing.
  • Restructure or resolve troubled (workout) credits with input from risk partners.
  • Manage ABL credit, operational, and market risk within pre-approved risk tolerance levels.
  • Work with originations, structuring, legal, compliance, and risk partners to align strategic objectives, share market knowledge, and facilitate seamless execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in a relevant field.
  • Licenses: Series 79 and Series 63.
  • 7-11 years of related work experience in financial analysis and portfolio management.
  • Strong technical skills, including financial analysis and modeling.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to distill complex data into concise and relevant issues.
  • Strong interpersonal skills that foster teamwork, trust, and accountability.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across functional areas to facilitate execution.
