About the position

The EGSE Technical Project Manager Sr at Blue Origin plays a crucial role in the development of the Blue Moon lunar lander product lines. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership, and a commitment to quality to ensure safe human spaceflight. The role involves managing Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) efforts, collaborating with design teams and subcontractors, and overseeing the construction and operational planning for the lunar lander spacecraft. The successful candidate will contribute to Blue Origin's mission of enabling sustainable infrastructure for transporting crew and cargo to the lunar surface.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the Technical Project Manager for Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) efforts for the Blue Moon Pathfinder Lunar Lander spacecraft.
  • Collaborate with internal and external design teams and subcontractors to manage and coordinate construction and operational plans.
  • Design, acquire, build, test, and certify all EGSE systems.
  • Manage and approve requests for EGSE and report to senior leadership on procurement risks that may impact program deliverables.
  • Ensure adherence to safety and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

  • B.S degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • 10+ years of related technical hands-on experience in complex electrical systems and circuit design.
  • Ability to perform and manage technically complex projects using independent judgment and personal initiative.
  • Experience designing, testing, troubleshooting, and operating spacecraft EGSE systems.
  • Familiarity with industry test standards such as SMC-S-016.
  • Experience with electrical distribution design, hazard classification, load balancing, and design documentation.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • PMP Certification or master's degree in an Engineering or Business Management field.
  • Experience with spacecraft, aircraft, or launch vehicle integration and test systems.
  • Experience designing circuit card assemblies and test cable harnesses.
  • Experience with scripting (Python or other scripting language).
  • Experience with software tools such as JAMA, Cameo, MATLAB/Simulink, Confluence, JIRA, Git, Creo, and Windchill.
