About the position

The EHR Support Specialist position is a full-time role under the supervision of the VP of Clinical Applications, primarily focused on providing at-the-elbow support for end users of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) System within NOMS Healthcare. This position is critical in ensuring that both current and new offices receive the necessary support to effectively utilize the EHR system. The role requires flexibility, as it includes evening and weekend hours, and necessitates 100% travel to NOMS outlying offices, which may involve overnight stays. In this position, the specialist will engage in a variety of essential functions. These include providing regular at-the-elbow support to NOMS offices, being available for emergent support needs, and instructing training programs for both new and established team members. The specialist will also play a key role in onboarding new provider offices, reviewing and testing new software and upgrades, and implementing approved process flows. Additionally, the specialist will troubleshoot workflow questions, maintain excellent customer service, and ensure that the software operates efficiently and safely on a daily basis. Staying updated on the latest information technology and healthcare software applications is also a vital part of the role. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of electronic medical record processes and have the ability to perform as a programmer/analyst to resolve complex problems. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential, as the role requires interaction with physicians and team members across multiple sites. Responsibilities

  • Provide at-the-elbow support to NOMS current and new offices on a regular cadence determined by management.
  • Be available for emergent at-the-elbow support.
  • Instruct training programs for new and established team members and support the onboarding of new provider offices.
  • Review, evaluate, and test new software and software upgrades.
  • Implement approved process flows with team members.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve workflow questions within the offices through taking helpdesk calls and rounding within offices.
  • Work closely with the analyst team and/or vendor helpdesk to resolve software problems.
  • Maintain excellent customer service while working with NOMS physicians and team members.
  • Ensure that the software functions efficiently daily and remains in safe functioning condition.
  • Stay abreast of leading-edge information technology, communications, and healthcare software applications.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in information systems, business, or a technical field preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years progressively responsible experience in information systems, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of electronic medical record processes and medical data processing practices.
  • Skill in performing as a programmer/analyst to resolve problems requiring critical thinking and coordination of simultaneous efforts.
  • Ability to be oriented to end-user support needs across multiple sites.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Knowledge of Epic Ambulatory systems and workflows.
