About the position

The EHR Systems Analyst at Optum is responsible for managing and supporting the electronic health record (EHR) system, specifically Athenahealth. This role involves collaborating with clinical and administrative staff to ensure the EHR system meets the needs of the organization, providing user support and training, and leading EHR initiatives and projects. The analyst will also perform routine system administration, troubleshoot issues, and engage with vendors to enhance EHR functionality and support clinical processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the effort to support the organization's EHR needs and serve as a key clinical IT resource.
  • Complete routine system administration and maintenance of the EHR system.
  • Coordinate and complete special projects related to EHR.
  • Provide end-user training and ongoing support for the EHR system.
  • Evaluate and update best-practice workflows for EHR usage.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application and workflow issues related to the EHR system.
  • Engage with EHR vendor and other third-party vendors for EHR solutions and support.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher).
  • 2+ years of electronic health records (EHR) experience, including configuration and maintenance.
  • 1+ year(s) of experience with basic computer software or Microsoft Office suite.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to customize and configure systems to support clinic workflow and clinical best practices.
  • Ability to evaluate and analyze system features and functionality for problem resolution.
  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule that will include some evening and weekend hours.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices related to patient flow and staffing roles.
  • Exceptional computer skills, particularly in all Microsoft Office software.
