About the position

The EHS Coordinator is responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies at the designated site to ensure compliance with organizational, local, state, and federal regulations. This role involves responding to technical and regulatory inquiries, performing audits, conducting training, and leading special projects with minimal oversight from the EHS manager.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain all applicable procedures, processes, and programs relating to EHS compliance with local, state, and federal statutes.
  • Assist with record keeping, presentation, and evaluation of department records and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Provide EHS training and orientation to new and existing employees.
  • Maintain EHS programs aligning with organizational and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform internal EHS compliance audits and manage the implementation of audit corrective action recommendations.
  • Evaluate, implement, and maintain ISO standards 45001 and 14001.
  • Maintain environmental regulatory requirements related to air quality, emissions, wastewater, stormwater, and solid and hazardous waste management.
  • Cultivate and continuously improve a safety culture among all site employees.
  • Conduct, review, and communicate job-specific risk assessments across all processes.
  • Assist and conduct incident investigations, root cause evaluations, and implement corrective action plans.
  • Assist with workers' compensation treatment plans.
  • Represent the organization before governing agencies, inspectors, and auditors.
  • Coordinate internal first responders and external emergency personnel during emergency scenarios.
  • Respond to emergencies and perform basic medical first aid and medical checks of all site associates.
  • Participate in all company activities and programs related to quality, training, human resources, security, and EHS.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 1-2 years of EHS related experience.
  • Process-oriented thinking.
  • Customer orientation (internally and externally).
