About the position

The EHS Engineer position at Actalent involves ensuring the health, safety, and environmental standards are met within the organization. The role requires strong communication skills to convey complex concepts and a thorough understanding of site operations. The engineer will develop and maintain risk management strategies, facilitate investigations of incidents, and support continuous improvement in HSE practices.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of site operations and detailed processes.
  • Ensure key risks are well-understood and mitigated through the site Management System and action plans.
  • Implement a robust but efficient risk-based HSE audit program.
  • Co-own the site HSE continuous improvement plan with relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide data analysis, trending, and recommendations on HSE matters.
  • Facilitate and support line management through the investigation of injuries, illnesses, and incidents.
  • Enhance the management system based on investigation outputs.
  • Build effective relationships, coach, influence, and support stakeholders at all levels to strengthen HSE culture.

  • Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations
  • Experience working with regulatory agencies
  • Ability to work under pressure and make decisions with incomplete or conflicting data
  • Strong data manipulation, analysis, and summarization skills to provide key insights
