About the position
The EHS Fleet Coordinator at S.J. Distributors LLC is responsible for managing the fleet operations, including the ordering of trucks and warehouse equipment, inventory management, and ensuring effective communication between departments and external partners. This role focuses on optimizing equipment performance through routine maintenance scheduling and providing support to drivers and suppliers.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with other departments and external companies for work handover.
- Order trucks and warehouse equipment (such as forklifts) and parts.
- Manage parts and consumables inventory.
- Contact supervisors for feedback or assistance as needed.
- Evaluate quotes from suppliers for purchase, repair, and leasing.
- Develop and maintain a schedule for routine maintenance plans for equipment to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
- Promptly answer calls from drivers, co-workers, and suppliers, and provide assistance in addressing inquiries and resolving issues.
Requirements
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, fostering cooperation and effective teamwork.
- Familiarity with computer operations and proficient use of Microsoft Office applications.
- Physical capability to lift, carry, push, or pull heavy objects weighing up to 50 lbs. at a time.
- Experience in repairing and maintaining trucks and forklifts.
