About the position

The EHS Manager - Field Operations role is responsible for ensuring the safety of installation and construction crews, compliance with safety regulations, and the implementation of effective safety programs. This position involves developing and maintaining systems to track safety metrics, conducting audits, and collaborating with various stakeholders to promote a strong safety culture within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure installation and construction crews operate using safe methods, gear, and equipment.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain systems to track key safety metrics, including incident reports and compliance rates.
  • Analyze safety data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Prepare detailed reports for senior leadership on safety performance.
  • Establish and monitor safety Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) with field leadership.
  • Implement and enforce safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with leadership, labor unions, and internal safety teams to promote safety culture.
  • Assist in developing a comprehensive safety program for construction and field installation needs.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards.
  • Develop and deliver safety training programs for workers.
  • Lead investigations of accidents and incidents to determine root causes and corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety incidents and ensure timely reporting.
  • Monitor adherence to safety policies by all project personnel.
  • Work closely with subcontractors to align safety programs with project requirements.
  • Collaborate with regulatory agencies during inspections and audits.
  • Develop and implement emergency response plans for various scenarios.
  • Foster open communication for reporting safety concerns and suggestions.
  • Ensure availability and proper use of safety equipment and PPE.
  • Establish protocols for inspections of safety equipment.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of safety compliance experience in construction or installation projects.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to recognize hazardous acts and behaviors.
  • Active listening and research skills, with sound decision-making ability.
  • Possess OSHA certifications and relevant safety certifications (e.g., CSP, CHST).
  • Knowledgeable about federal, state, and local safety regulations.
