About the position

The EHS Manager at Graham Corporation is responsible for ensuring a safety-first culture within the organization. This role involves overseeing compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, conducting training programs, managing emergency response, and leading safety initiatives. The EHS Manager will also analyze safety data, conduct inspections, and collaborate with various agencies to maintain a safe working environment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Conduct monthly specialized safety and environmental training programs.
  • Oversee the Respirator and Hearing Conservation programs.
  • Lead the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and manage related training and inventory.
  • Act as the main contact for claims management and accident reporting.
  • Compile and analyze accident and exposure data, providing recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Conduct on-site inspections to audit safety practices and conditions.
  • Develop controls for identified hazards and provide compliance advice.
  • Plan and coordinate environmental compliance programs and ensure timely submissions.
  • Maintain an effective Safety Data Sheets (SDS) program and oversee hazardous waste processes.
  • Keep safety policies current and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives, including the 5S program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Management, or Safety Engineering.
  • 5+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • 10 years of on-the-job EHS experience in lieu of formal education.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and specialized software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certificate in Safety Management preferred.
