About the position

The EHS Plant Specialist at Kohler is responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs and projects. This role focuses on risk identification and collaboration with management and teams to enhance EHS practices at the site. Key responsibilities include facilitating injury prevention plans, ensuring compliance with EHS standards, and evaluating safety equipment, all aimed at promoting a safer workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and coordinate safety improvement plans for continuous improvement in safety.
  • Develop, communicate, facilitate, and track the site injury prevention plan.
  • Maintain all OSHA required programs, training, logs, records, and reports.
  • Coordinate EHS training for management, supervision, and hourly associates.
  • Perform incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are completed timely.
  • Conduct risk and hazard analysis and maintain statistical analysis of accidents and injuries.
  • Manage contractor safety programs and provide monthly safety reviews and compliance audits.
  • Implement safety-related capital projects and evaluate safety equipment.
  • Work with medical providers to evaluate lost and restricted work days and recommend improvements.
  • Manage return to work and light duty programs, and support workers compensation claims.
  • Coordinate and present monthly safety meeting topics for various levels of staff.
  • Actively participate in the site safety committee and communicate EHS regulations and standards.
  • Maintain sustainability-related data and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.

Requirements

  • Four-year degree in Engineering, Safety, or a related field.
  • Five to ten years of experience in an EHS related role within an industrial setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to function as a team leader and foster participation from management and associates.
  • Good interpersonal communication and computer skills.
