About the position

The EHS Technician II at Panasonic Energy of North America (PENA) is responsible for executing Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) program elements in alignment with the company's ISO-45001 Safety Management System and ISO-14001 Environmental Management System goals. This role involves maintaining communication with management and employees, conducting audits, training, and supporting safety initiatives to foster a culture of safety and compliance within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, compliance, and continuous improvement throughout PENA.
  • Complete EHS Technician I duties with minimal supervision and have knowledge of the facility layout.
  • Master EHS processes and accurately use EHS equipment and reporting systems.
  • Assist EHS Specialists with monitoring tasks and learn specialized EHS programs.
  • Conduct audits and inspections related to safety equipment with minimal supervision.
  • Conduct EHS training courses and orientations as needed.
  • Classify EHS cases, gather information, and fill cases properly.
  • Learn regulatory standards and create basic programs or training materials.
  • Monitor adherence to OSHA/EPA guidelines and support incident prevention strategies.
  • Manage or lead smaller projects under supervision and support larger projects.
  • Respond to incidents, implement containment actions, and gather information for investigations.
  • Write EHS incident reports and utilize Behavior Based Programs to promote proactive solutions.
  • Support the adoption of 6S practices across the plant.
  • Work effectively in both team-based and independent environments to add value to the organization.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Biology, Chemistry, or related field preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a related role.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
  • Working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking.
  • Solid listening and communication skills, with adaptability to interact with team members.
  • Ability to deal with complexity and ambiguity.

  • Alignment to Panasonic's core principles such as contribution to society and adaptability.
  • OSHA 10 hr. or 30 certification or NVOSHA Safety and Health Practitioner Certificate preferred.
