About the position

The EHS Technician will work closely with the Environmental Health & Safety Manager to develop and implement plans and policies aimed at preventing employee injuries and environmental defects while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. This role involves collaboration across various levels of the organization to promote EHS standards and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and document safety inspections on a regular basis to ensure compliance with EHS regulations and internal policies.
  • Respond to incidents and conduct investigations of EHS-related events.
  • Assist in accident, near miss, and first-aid investigations to identify root causes and develop corrective actions.
  • Prepare, implement, and sustain EHS programs, policies, and initiatives.
  • Develop and provide EHS training to employees as needed.
  • Analyze EHS data and communicate with plant supervision on improvement ideas and risk reduction activities.
  • Sponsor and guide the site's Safety Committee.
  • Champion permitting and regulatory compliance for new processes and equipment installations.
  • Interact with EHS regulatory agencies as required.
  • Coordinate with consulting firms on program changes and compliance issues.
  • Administer the facility's Waste Management Program with a focus on waste reduction and recycling.
  • Ensure compliance with hazardous chemicals regulations and maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Implement emergency response plans and serve as Emergency Coordinator as assigned.
  • Lead by example in following safety rules and regulations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one year of experience in the Environmental Health and Safety field.
  • Four years of experience in manufacturing.
  • High School Diploma/GED and an Associate degree or equivalent in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a relevant technical discipline, or two additional years of manufacturing experience.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
