About the position

Tamarack Materials, Inc. is seeking an EIFS & Stucco Outside Sales Representative to join our team. This position is crucial for driving sales activities from lead generation through to closing deals within an assigned territory. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing the Company Marketing Plan, focusing on customer satisfaction, revenue generation, and achieving long-term account goals that align with the company's vision and values. The role requires a solid understanding of building envelope principles and product knowledge of building materials, particularly EIFS (Exterior Insulation Finishing System) and stucco products. The EIFS & Stucco Outside Sales Representative will engage in all steps of the sales process, which includes preparing action plans by accounts and product lines, effectively searching for and following up on sales leads, and acquiring new customers. A strong knowledge of colors and color matching is essential, as well as an overall understanding of construction and building materials best practices. The representative will also supplement EIFS & Stucco sales with general line sales, coordinate and schedule product demonstrations with vendor support, and consult with architects, owners, and contractors on stucco and other exterior building materials and services. Building rapport with customers to establish long-term, repeat relationships is a key aspect of this role. The representative will work closely with manufacturing partners and independent representatives to drive sales, provide timely and accurate competitive pricing, and maintain accurate records of sales activity. Additionally, gathering competitive market and pricing information and collaborating with the existing sales team to grow the category with established customers and develop new prospects within the defined territory are essential responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all steps of the EIFS products sales process, including preparing action plans by accounts and product line.
  • Effective search and follow-through of sales leads and new customers.
  • Knowledge of colors and color matching.
  • Overall knowledge of construction/building materials best practices.
  • Supplement EIFS & Stucco Sales with general line sales.
  • Coordinate and schedule product demos with vendor support.
  • Call on architects, owners, and contractors to introduce and technically consult on Stucco and other exterior building materials and services.
  • Identify and execute on opportunities for up-sell and cross-sell.
  • Establish rapport with customers, building long-term, repeat customer relationships.
  • Work closely with manufacturing partners and independent reps to drive sales.
  • Be proficient in product knowledge to assist the customer in buying decisions.
  • Provide timely and accurate competitive pricing on all completed prospect applications submitted for pricing and approval.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activity, sales, and pricing.
  • Gather competitive market and pricing information.
  • Work closely with existing sales team in growing category with established customers and developing new prospects within defined territory.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Four (4) year Business or Marketing degree preferred.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience selling value-added products in a building materials related industry required.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Three-year motor vehicle history report must meet Company requirements.
  • Highly motivated self-starter who can also function as a strong team player.
  • Drive, desire and ability to create and close sales.
  • Ability to self-manage, show initiative and be proactive.
  • Communicate professionally with coworkers and customers both verbally and in writing.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills required.
  • Experience in all aspects of supplier relationship management.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills. Ability to learn vendor websites.
