Responsibilities

• Perform EKG services according to established hospital procedures.
• Maintain EKG equipment and inventory for efficient operation.
• Assist in training new employees and interns.
• Promote the department through excellent customer service practices.
• Perform clerical duties such as computer entry, filing, and reporting.
• Complete all test orders in EPIC for appropriate charge processing.
• Achieve agreed-upon goals and objectives within specified time frames.
• Attend required safety training programs and understand safety responsibilities.
• Follow hospital exposure control plans and universal precautions when handling blood and body fluids.
• Demonstrate respect and regard for the dignity of all patients and staff.
• Promote effective working relations within the department and across units.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or Equivalent.
• Completion of EKG training program or equivalent experience.
• Six months of experience as an EKG technician preferred.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification required.
• Light typing skills and knowledge of normal and abnormal EKG data.
