EKG/Telemetry Technician

About the position

Novant Health is seeking an EKG/Telemetry Technician to perform technical procedures and functions for electro diagnostics. This role involves observing cardiac monitors, interpreting cardiac rhythms, and applying telemetry services as instructed. The technician will also be responsible for entering telemetry charges and other paperwork relevant to the department, contributing to a team that prioritizes quality care and service.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical procedures and functions for electro diagnostics.
• Observe cardiac monitors and identify, calculate, interpret, and communicate information regarding cardiac rhythms.
• Apply and discontinue telemetry services as instructed.
• Enter telemetry charges and edit paperwork as applicable to the department.
• Deliver remarkable patient experiences in every dimension, every time.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid CPR Certification.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and basic CPR.
• Ability to operate electronic and computer-based equipment.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Thorough knowledge of cardiac monitor interpretation.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
• Ability to recognize technical inferior EKG and take corrective action.
