About the position

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregivers to join our team at FirstLight Home Care in Virginia Beach. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals in various care settings, including personal care homes, group homes, and memory care facilities. Your primary responsibility will be to assist clients with daily living activities while ensuring their comfort and safety.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
• Administer medication reminders as prescribed and monitor vital signs.
• Assist clients with mobility and lifting as needed to ensure their safety.
• Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote mental and emotional well-being.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients at all times.
• Document care provided and report any changes in client condition to the appropriate personnel.
• Support clients with dementia care by utilizing effective communication techniques tailored to their needs.
• Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required.

Requirements

• Previous experience in caregiving, particularly in group home or personal care settings, is preferred but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with medication administration and monitoring vital signs is a plus.
• Experience in memory care or dementia care is highly valued.
• A valid driver's license may be required for positions involving transportation of clients.
