About the position

The Elderwood General Manager at The Darling is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing the food and beverage team in a fine dining environment. The position focuses on enhancing customer service and teamwork to ensure every guest has a memorable dining experience. The General Manager will lead by example, manage staff, and maintain high operational standards while fostering a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a team of employees including hiring, development, scheduling, and training.
  • Ensure high-level service in all aspects of operations and provide each guest with a memorable dining experience.
  • Create a service-first work environment.
  • Assure cleanliness of front-of-house areas including windows, light fixtures, and entrance as assigned.
  • Assign service-related tasks to servers.
  • Ensure dining tables are properly prepared for service.
  • Communicate to staff all current menu choices, specials, and menu deviations.
  • Assist with special events as needed.
  • Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently.
  • Understand and communicate products and services available at the hotel.
  • Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures.
  • Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to Human Resources.
  • Ensure team members' uniforms are neat and professional and grooming standards are followed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets.
  • Anticipate and address guests' service needs.
  • Thank guests with genuine appreciation.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others.
  • Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of Restaurant Management experience.
  • Ability to direct and coordinate the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Hands-on leadership style.
  • Able to build, coach, and develop a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality.
