About the position

The eLearning Instructional Designer position at Tipping Point Solutions is a remote contractor role focused on designing advanced foreign language courses in an eLearning environment. The role requires collaboration with a diverse team, including Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and military specialists, to ensure instructional integrity and effectiveness in training materials. The designer will employ adult learning theories and methodologies to create engaging and interactive courseware, while managing project timelines and deliverables effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the instructional integrity and educational effectiveness of all training materials produced.
  • Employ adult learning theory principles and foreign language methodology in courseware designs.
  • Collaborate closely with SMEs and team members in the development of storyboards for advanced foreign language learning activities.
  • Design complex level branching and intrinsic feedback loops in eLearning courses.
  • Apply proven eLearning best practices for learner engagement and knowledge transfer, including simulations and scenario-based knowledge checks.
  • Communicate effectively within the framework of an Army training culture.
  • Employ excellent planning and time management skills to ensure project deliverables are on schedule.
  • Interface with team members using technology-based workflow resources such as MS Teams, SharePoint, and Asana.

Requirements

  • Prior experience as an eLearning designer/developer of IMI Level 2-3.
  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design or related discipline.
  • Specialization in Instructional Systems Design or Instructional Design Technology, and/or a degree in Applied Linguistics.
  • 5 years' experience in the Instructional Design field.
  • Firm understanding of the ADDIE system of design and evaluation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and oral communication abilities in a cross-cultural environment.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and flexible environment where priorities and deadlines may change.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interface professionally with Senior-level personnel and Government/Military clients.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience designing Army or Army University distributed learning content.
  • Demonstrated self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in a Government contracting environment.
  • Working knowledge of languages such as Arabic, Chinese Mandarin, French, Korean, Russian, or Spanish.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Captivate and learning management systems.
