About the position

The Electrical Maintenance Engineer I at Bayer is responsible for ensuring the upkeep of electrical norms and standards while supporting improvement projects related to safety, quality, and reliability. This role involves specifying electrical components, preparing maintenance plans, and engaging in continuous self-development and team collaboration to enhance operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Understand, follow and participate in the upkeep of Bayer electrical norms, practices, standards, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Support improvement projects including safety, yields, capacity, quality, reliability, and cost improvement.
  • Specify instruments, control devices, motors, and other electrical components.
  • Review and evaluate vendor information for instrumentation and electrical components.
  • Prepare maintenance plans for restoring equipment to operating condition efficiently.
  • Assist other engineers and technicians with instrumentation performance.
  • Create and modify documentation related to process operation and safety regulations.
  • Engage in continued development of self and area personnel through peer coaching.
  • Comply with site safety rules and work to improve safety through coaching or engineered improvements.
  • Support Site and Area Production System improvements.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or a related science.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and inclusive culture.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a high degree of personal initiative.
  • Ability to make timely decisions and improve results.
  • Clear and concise communication skills, both orally and in writing.
