About the position

The Electrical and Automation Engineering Co-Op position at Nestlé USA is designed for undergraduate students who are eager to gain real-world experience in the food and beverage industry. This co-op program offers a unique opportunity to engage in a development program that spans 3 to 6 months, allowing participants to rotate through various engineering functions within the company. As a co-op, you will be immersed in the dynamic environment of Nestlé USA, where collaboration and innovation are at the forefront of our operations. You will have the chance to work on key projects that focus on Electrical and Automation, gaining insights into power distribution, motor controls, electrical safety, factory automation standards, and advanced process controls. This role is not just about learning; it’s about contributing to meaningful projects that impact the production of beloved food and beverage products. Throughout your time in the program, you will be expected to deliver results while developing your skills as an engineer. You will work closely with experienced leaders who will provide mentorship and guidance, helping you navigate the complexities of the engineering field. The co-op experience is structured to ensure that you not only understand the technical aspects of engineering but also the collaborative nature of working in a team environment. You will be encouraged to embrace an entrepreneurial mindset, challenge the status quo, and strive for excellence in every task you undertake. This position is based in Gaffney, SC, and may require you to work in various facilities, adapting to different shifts and ambient conditions as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and grow as an Engineer while delivering results for Nestlé USA through key projects, systems, and people.
  • Engage in Electrical & Automation experiences including Power Distribution, Basic Motor and Power Controls, and Electrical Safety/Arc Flash.
  • Understand and apply Factory Automation Standards and Instrumentation Calibration.
  • Gain experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Advanced Process Controls.
  • Explore Robotics and Digital Technologies such as Data Analytics and IIoT.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Analytical skills for data tracking and results analysis.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated outstanding learning capabilities and the ability to deliver results on challenging assignments.

Nice-to-haves

  • Comfortable working with people in various capacities in a factory setting.
  • Open to working in facilities with varying ambient conditions (cold, wet, or warm).
  • Willingness to work any shift, including second or third shift as required.
