About the position

The Electrical and Controls Engineer will be responsible for developing control systems and improving processes within a chemical, electrical, or industrial environment. This role involves designing power and control panels, managing engineering projects, and collaborating with various teams to ensure safe and efficient operations. The position requires significant travel to customer locations and a strong technical background in electrical engineering.

Responsibilities

• Develop control systems and continuous process improvements.
• Design power panels and control panels for safe and efficient operations.
• Create reliable process power systems to be used globally.
• Program software for PLC systems (Automation Direct).
• Manage engineering projects, including budget and schedule communication.
• Develop scope of work for projects and electrical contractors.
• Collaborate with electrical contractors during construction and installation phases.
• Work with Operations to generate procedures and train coworkers.
• Coordinate with customer engineering and operations teams for equipment installation.
• Troubleshoot site process performance issues in the field.
• Provide startup support for new sites.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3-5 years' job site experience in a Chemical, Electrical, or Industrial Process environment.
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering technology (EET/ECET) or electrical engineering (EE).
• At least 5 years of technical expertise in developing control systems.
• Excellent PC skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to understand P&ID drawings.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Open-minded and adaptable to various roles.
• Willingness to relocate or commute to Jeffersonville, IN.
