About the position

As an Electrical and Instrumentation Technician at Reworld, you will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing various types of power plant equipment. This role focuses on ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems related to energy from waste processes, including boilers, motors, and pollution control systems. You will also engage in preventative maintenance and troubleshooting to support the company's commitment to sustainable waste solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and testing of low and medium voltage switchgear, circuit breakers, motor starters, and power transformers.
  • Perform maintenance of higher voltage switchyard equipment and steam turbine driven generators.
  • Conduct electrical maintenance work related to energy from waste boilers and associated equipment, including pumps, fans, motors, conveyors, and refuse cranes.
  • Troubleshoot, assess, inspect, adjust, and repair the Continuous Emissions Monitoring System (CEMS) and facility instrumentation.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks, including routine calibration, thermography, and ultrasonic testing.
  • Operate calibration equipment and perform electrical and instrumentation maintenance and repair work as assigned.
  • Complete maintenance work records and troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation problems.
  • Participate in plant shutdown work, including teardown inspection of electrical plant equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area and tools, and perform housekeeping chores as needed.
  • Complete required safety, compliance, and training certifications.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Formal technical or apprentice training is preferred.
  • Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts.
