Audubon is currently seeking an Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering Manager to join our team in our Canonsburg, PA Office. The Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering Manager will manage a team of engineering supervisor(s) and/or engineers who perform electrical and instrumentation engineering assignments associated with designing equipment, components, structures, or systems. This role requires effective interaction and communication with direct reports, team members, clients, subcontractors, vendors, and other consultants. The manager will set realistic expectations and ensure that assigned projects are completed according to schedule and within budget. The manager will ensure that projects assigned to direct reports and team members are completed according to schedule and within budget, adhering to company quality standards and following engineering checking and approval procedures. Responsibilities include performing checks or assigning appropriate checkers for engineering drawings and mathematical calculations produced by direct reports, ensuring overall quality and technical accuracy of deliverables. The manager will oversee adherence to safe design practices while focusing on identifying cost-saving opportunities. In addition, the manager will plan and manage workload, budgets, and project resources, requesting assistance as necessary. They will assist in and coordinate the development of internal design guidelines, specifications, and design control procedures. The role involves assessing the feasibility of projects by evaluating materials, costs, and time requirements, applying knowledge and techniques of engineering and advanced mathematics. The manager will prepare or direct the preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, and/or construction schedules for projects, analyze different strategies, and resolve design and development issues. The manager will also manage client relationships, develop repeat business opportunities, compile discipline-specific man-hour estimates, and forecast man-hour requirements and schedules associated with discipline-specific project scope. They will assess challenges and potential risks of planned projects, including construction costs, government regulations, and potential environmental hazards. The manager will undertake initiatives for risk management and address challenges appropriately. Responsibilities also include hiring staff, conducting performance evaluations, making salary decisions, resolving grievances, and initiating disciplinary actions. The manager will ensure compliance with all company and client health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) standards, actively participate in hazard identification programs, and monitor safe working conditions for staff.
