About the position

Candidates will provide AutoCAD LT / AutoCAD Electrical / and general AutoCAD drafting work for proposals, production, and engineering teams within the organization. This position will mainly provide AutoCAD Electrical, and AutoCAD LT drawn Automation Control Panels and Industrial I&E Rack Systems. This position will also provide secondary support on generation of “Mechanical Gas Tubing Detection System Panel” designs and proposals. Interested candidates should be an enthusiastic team member supporting the overall goals and objectives of the organization in any way necessary. Primarily, the role involves designing and developing Controls and Automation System Panels with AutoCAD LT and AutoCAD Electrical using existing organizations' “pre-built” libraries and with collaboration and input from the Engineering Lead. The candidate will also develop and maintain complete documentation packages for each project assigned to execute. Documentation includes bills of material, system layout, detailed drawings, termination drawings, and “As Builts”. Additionally, the candidate will maintain a revisions library of the projects assigned, tracking Proposal / Red-Line / Construction and AS Built phases. The role requires verifying that final drafts include all relevant information in an easy-to-read format, and ensuring that calculations, measurements, and units are accurate based on initial design information from engineers and current UL standards. The candidate will be responsible for providing uncompromising quality to all work processes in designated areas of AutoCAD responsibility and has the authority to stop production work at any time if quality is believed to be compromised or there is a safety concern with the panel design.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop Controls and Automation System Panels with AutoCAD LT and AutoCAD Electrical using existing organizations' pre-built libraries.
  • Develop and maintain complete documentation packages for each project assigned, including bills of material, system layout, detailed drawings, termination drawings, and 'As Builts'.
  • Maintain revisions library of the projects assigned, tracking Proposal / Red-Line / Construction and AS Built phases.
  • Provide Mechanical CAD design and development for Gas 'Analyzer' Tubing Detection System Panels, Bills of Materials, and Proposals for these types of systems.
  • Verify final drafts include all relevant information in an easy-to-read format and ensure calculations, measurements, and units are accurate based on initial design information from engineers and current UL standards.
  • Provide uncompromising quality to all work processes in designated area of AutoCAD responsibility and stop production work if quality is compromised or there is a safety concern.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated high level ability to design and execute detailed drawings using AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, and AutoCAD LT with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of NEC code as it pertains to PLC, I&E Controls, and instrumentation panels.
  • Ability to work independently and use good judgment in making commitments to others.
  • Ability to build and maintain excellent relationships with numerous internal and external parties in a competitive environment.
  • Good working knowledge of Mechanical Tubing Systems, Industrial Automation Systems, and Industrial I&E Rack Systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledgeable on NEC Code requirements as it pertains to control and electrical panels.
  • Knowledge of UL508, UL NNNY.
  • Familiarity with software programs such as Microsoft Office Word and Excel, Adobe PDF, and SharePoint.
