The starting base salary for this role ranges from $130,000 to $160,000, depending on experience and qualifications. In this role, you will conduct patent searches to assess the novelty and patentability of inventions in the electrical and computer engineering fields. You will draft and prepare patent applications, ensuring they meet legal requirements and technical accuracy. Collaboration with inventors and attorneys is essential to gather necessary information for patent filings. You will also evaluate and respond to office actions from patent offices to secure patent allowances and conduct patentability and freedom-to-operate assessments. Staying updated with changes in patent laws and regulations relevant to electrical engineering is crucial, as is performing research into developing and emerging technologies.
