About the position

The Electrical Apprentice will work under the guidance of an Electrician to assist in the installation, alteration, addition, and repair of electrical systems. This role is essential for ensuring that electrical work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with relevant codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist with safely planning and completing Main Panel Upgrades (MPU)
• Diagnose and troubleshoot system components to resolve electrical issues
• Ensure work performed is of good craftsmanship and compliant with current NEC and local codes
• Determine when additional material is required to complete jobs
• Document projects by taking photos and completing work orders
• Maintain Company vehicle stocked with proper tools and equipment
• Adhere to Company policies, environmental health and safety policies, and good housekeeping practices
• Identify gaps in safety standards and provide recommendations to higher-level technical staff and management
• Follow OSHA, NEC, AHJ, and Utility requirements
• Ensure job sites are left clean
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Must possess or obtain an Apprentice License within the state of employment if applicable
• Minimum 2 years of electrical installation and repair experience preferred
• High School Graduate or GED
• Working knowledge and experience replacing residential electrical services and distribution panels
• Ability to effectively manage work to achieve required timelines
• Experience with all required hand and power tools associated with the electrical trade
• Ability to read and interpret single line drawings
• Must maintain a clean driving record and valid state driver's license
• Working knowledge of current NEC codes
