About the position

As an Electrical & Automation Technician at Nestlé, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our electronic control automation equipment. This full-time position is primarily focused on monitoring, maintaining, and upgrading various electrical systems and components within our facility. You will be part of a dynamic team that is dedicated to delivering quality food and beverage products while also striving to reduce our environmental impact. In this role, you will be responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems according to the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). You will monitor and upgrade controls, drives, PLCs, HMIs, and other control equipment, ensuring that all systems operate efficiently and effectively. Additionally, you will assist mechanics with troubleshooting and repairing program or control issues, write moderate to complex control programs, and design new control systems as needed. Your responsibilities will also include conducting periodic inspections, system testing, and calibration of control systems. You will oversee control system upgrades and ensure compliance with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). This position requires a commitment to safety, quality, and compliance, as well as adherence to company policies and procedures. You will work primarily on the 3rd shift, from 10 PM to 6 AM, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems or components according to CMMS.
  • Monitor, maintain, and upgrade controls, drives, PLCs, HMIs, and other control equipment.
  • Assist Mechanics with troubleshooting and repairing program or controls issues.
  • Write moderate to complex control programs and design new control systems.
  • Perform periodic inspections, system testing, and control systems calibration.
  • Oversee control system upgrades.
  • Ensure that all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are followed and promote the highest standards for quality, safety, and compliance.
  • Follow all company policies & procedures as well as the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or trade school equivalent required.
  • 2-year degree in electrical or related field required.
  • 3-5 years of experience with programming, maintaining electrical components and controls, and automation required.
  • Ability to work overtime, irregular hours, or rotating shifts required.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical components and controls.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and generate manuals, schematics, ladder logic, and diagrams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a food manufacturing setting preferred.
  • Experience using computer systems including CMMS, Microsoft applications, and Rockwell platforms.
  • Ability to speak, write, and understand English; bilingual (English/Spanish) is helpful.
