About the position

Nestle USA is seeking an Electrical and Automation Technician Level I to join our Medford manufacturing facility. This role is crucial in contributing to the production of beloved household pizza brands that are staples in American homes. You will be working primarily from 2 PM to 10 PM, Monday through Friday, with some weekend work and overtime as needed. The starting hourly pay is competitive at $31.75, with an additional $1.50 per hour for second shift work. You will also have the opportunity to earn quarterly incentives and enjoy comprehensive benefits after just 30 days of employment, including three weeks of paid time off in your first year and 11 paid holidays. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of electrical tasks, including working with PLCs, servos, and safety devices. You will utilize your skills to troubleshoot and repair electrical issues, calibrate equipment, and maintain documentation of calibration results. Your expertise will also be essential in performing electrical testing using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other diagnostic tools. You will collaborate closely with equipment operators and line team leaders to ensure smooth operations and contribute to the continuous improvement of our maintenance processes. Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical troubleshooting on PLCs, servos, and safety relays.
  • Calibrate flow meters, RTDs, thermocouples, pressure sensors, and scales.
  • Document calibration results and maintain calibration training.
  • Utilize electrical testing devices to troubleshoot plant issues.
  • Update electrical prints to reflect wiring changes.
  • Create and improve preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Participate in yearly plant shutdowns for main electrical distribution systems.
  • Rebuild contactors and perform removal and installation of equipment.
  • Maintain a close working relationship with equipment operators and line team leaders.
  • Troubleshoot emergency equipment failures and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in an Industrial Electrical technical field such as Automation Systems Technology or E&I Journeyman preferred.
  • Highly skilled in electrical troubleshooting of PLCs, servos, and safety relays.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to interpret technical literature and documentation.
  • Working knowledge of switchboards, MCCs, panel boards, and control cabinets.
  • Ability to utilize a computer to troubleshoot and repair networked components.
  • Obtaining and maintaining a Wisconsin state electrical license may be required.
  • Calibration training and certification may be required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with various electrical software including RSLogix and FactoryTalk View.
  • Familiarity with calibration equipment and procedures.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and good housekeeping practices.
