About the position

As an Electrical Maintenance Technician at Aerotek, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving the condition of manufacturing equipment. This role involves repairing or replacing failed components, performing preventative maintenance, and developing strategies to enhance quality and efficiency in a highly automated environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the condition of manufacturing equipment, including repairing or replacing failed components.
  • Perform preventative maintenance measures as applicable.
  • Develop repair strategies to improve quality and efficiency.
  • Apply automation skills and knowledge in electronics and mechanics to install and troubleshoot circuitry and control systems on machinery.
  • Work on AC & DC systems up to 480 volts.
  • Record maintenance and repair activities in a computer-based maintenance management system.
  • Perform electrical maintenance on various machines, including lathes, mills, welding and brazing equipment, presses, and automated assembly lines.
  • Work with PLCs, CNCs, and multi-access robots daily.
  • Use basic test equipment such as multimeters, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical drive systems.
  • Understand electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic schematics, and mechanical drawings to solve problems promptly.
  • Reduce downtime by working efficiently and performing root cause analysis.
  • Commit to safety and quality, possessing strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience in a maintenance environment, preferably in manufacturing or a fast-paced setting.
  • General knowledge of electrical or electronics, machines and tools, measurement instruments, automation/robotics, maintenance, and repair.
  • Basic knowledge of PLC troubleshooting and familiarity.
  • Basic mathematics and trigonometry skills to understand complex instructions and schematics.
  • Intermediate maintenance skills.
  • Ability to create standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and ladder logic.
  • Knowledge of electrical OSHA standards.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills to analyze situations and determine next steps.

Nice-to-haves

  • PLC programming and editing experience.
  • Experience working with 480 volts.
  • Associate's degree in Machining Technology or Industrial Maintenance, or equivalent work experience (preferred but not required).
  • Experience as a manufacturing maintenance technician.
