About the position

The Electrical Commissioning Manager at Interstates, Inc. is responsible for leading the commissioning process for electrical projects, ensuring compliance with state and local standards. This role involves creating and executing detailed startup plans, coordinating resources, and maintaining effective communication with clients and project teams. The manager will also focus on training and developing team members while overseeing project budgets and schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and set the tone of communication with Interstates Teams during commissioning and start-up.
  • Interpret client milestone schedules to build out detailed resource schedules for commissioning.
  • Train and develop resources responsible for LV electrical commissioning.
  • Coordinate and allocate appropriate resources for projects.
  • Communicate clearly with client contacts, GCs, and ECs throughout the project.
  • Align with Interstates Safety personnel to identify and document safety hazards.
  • Budget for and project costs associated with commissioning activities.
  • Ensure contract documents, procedures, test scripts, and compliance statements are followed.
  • Maintain and communicate record-keeping with clients.
  • Simplify and communicate complex technical issues to various audiences.
  • Ensure daily and weekly progress reporting is completed.
  • Determine future resource needs with Human Resources.
  • Develop screening questions to assist recruiting in talent acquisition.
  • Develop training plans and assist with onboarding of new service technicians.
  • Create troubleshooting training in accordance with NETA guidelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering from a four-year college or university.
  • Associate's degree in electrical construction with experience in a Project Coordinator or Project Management role.
  • Minimum of 2 years of electrical experience in a relevant field.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with LV electrical commissioning.
  • Familiarity with NETA guidelines for training and troubleshooting.
