About the position

Teledyne Microwave Solutions, a leader in the design, development, and manufacture of sophisticated microwave/RF components and integrated assemblies, is seeking a skilled Electrical Component Engineer to join our innovative team. With over 50 years of experience, we cater to a diverse range of markets including aviation, communication, electronic warfare, industrial applications, missile/UAV systems, radar, satellite communication, space exploration, and test and measurement. In this role, you will be a key member of a collaborative environment, working closely with engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and quality departments. Your primary responsibility will be to provide technical leadership in the meticulous selection of Electrical, Electronic, and Electromechanical (EEE) parts and components for our cutting-edge RF systems and products. You will be instrumental in updating existing source control drawings, ensuring that part availability, configuration control levels, and electronic specifications are accurately reflected. Your expertise in electronic component finishes, including die attach, wire bonding, solderability, tin whisker mitigation, and RoHS compliance will be crucial. You will also utilize your knowledge of alternate sources for bare die and obsolete components, as well as your familiarity with reliability standards such as MIL-HDBK-217 and NAVSEA SD-18. This position requires navigating commercial, military, and space-level operating environments with ease, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and quality teams to provide technical leadership in the selection of EEE parts for RF systems and products.
  • Update existing source control drawings, considering part availability, configuration control level, and electronic specifications.
  • Work closely with engineering and document control to select new EEE parts and generate updated source control drawings.
  • Demonstrate expertise in electronic component finishes, including die attach, wire bonding, solderability, tin whisker mitigation, and RoHS compliance.
  • Utilize knowledge of alternate sources for bare die and obsolete components.
  • Demonstrate expertise in packaged and bare die components such as RF MMICs, PIN diodes, discrete, passives, and integrated analog ICs.
  • Navigate commercial, military, and space level operating environments with ease.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with reliability standards, including MIL-HDBK-217, NAVSEA SD-18, and similar criteria.

Requirements

  • 3 - 5 years of experience working as a Component Engineer or Electrical Engineer in a military or aerospace environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or similar discipline.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
  • Must be a US Citizen and able to attain Security Clearance.
