About the position

The Electrical/Computer Engineer IV position at Scientific Research Corporation involves solving complex technical problems related to RF systems, including design, development, integration, and testing. The role requires a high level of ingenuity and innovation, focusing on RF distribution components, antennas, and digital signal processing applications. The engineer will also support firmware and hardware development for embedded systems and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies, defines, and solves complex technical problems related to RF systems requirements, design, development, integration, testing, and fielding.
  • Designs and develops RF distribution components, antennas, and feedlines according to specifications and engineering standards.
  • Designs, develops, tests, and supports various digital signal processing and RF applications.
  • Supports firmware and hardware development for embedded systems including microcontrollers and FPGAs.
  • Designs and documents cable assemblies, including fabrication details and material specifications.
  • Designs and develops printed circuit boards (PCBs) and circuit card assemblies (CCAs) based on IPC standards.
  • Develops solutions for obsolete components or systems that require updates and upgrades.
  • Provides reverse engineering support for obsolete components.
  • Delivers complex technical presentations related to RF systems to program management and customers.
  • Performs extensive research and complex analysis to enhance technical and economic development of products or services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
  • Ten or more years of experience as an Electrical/Electronics Engineer or Computer Engineer in development, design, and prototyping.
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing, testing, and supporting digital signal processing and RF applications.
  • Experience programming and configuring microcontrollers, FPGAs, SoCs, and single board computers.
  • Experience designing and developing RF Cable Assemblies and PCBs.
  • Demonstrated experience creating Technical Data Packages (TDPs) for RF and Electrical applications.
  • Possess a current DoD Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
  • Experience developing RF components in lab and shipboard environments.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB, SimuLink, MathCAD, and radar signal processing toolsets.
  • Experience in threat system analysis and RF signals processing.
  • Knowledge of sensor signal processing and integration of sensor systems.
  • Experience leading and supervising junior RF Engineers.
