About the position

The Electrical/Computer Engineer V at Scientific Research Corporation is responsible for identifying, defining, and solving complex technical problems related to RF systems. This role involves designing and developing RF distribution components, antennas, and feedlines, as well as supporting various digital signal processing and radio frequency applications. The engineer will also provide technical guidance to junior engineers and deliver complex presentations to program management and customers.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies, defines, and solves complex technical problems related to RF systems requirements, design, development, integration, testing and/or fielding.
  • Designs and develops RF distribution components, antennas, and feedlines in accordance with specifications and engineering standards.
  • Designs, develops, tests, and supports various digital signal processing and radio frequency applications.
  • Supports firmware and hardware development languages for embedded system design.
  • Designs and documents cable assemblies, including fabrication details and material specifications.
  • Designs and develops printed circuit boards (PCB) and circuit card assemblies (CCA) based on IPC industry standards.
  • Develops solutions for obsolete components or systems that require updates and upgrades.
  • Provides reverse engineering support for obsolete components.
  • Develops and delivers complex technical presentations related to RF systems to high-level program management and customers.
  • Performs extensive research and complex analysis on major projects to enhance technical and economic development.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
  • Fifteen+ (15+) years of experience as an Electrical/Electronics Engineer or Computer Engineer in development, design, and prototyping.
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing, testing, and supporting digital signal processing and RF applications.
  • Experience programming and configuring microcontrollers, FPGAs, SoCs, PoMs, and single board computers.
  • Experience designing and developing RF Cable Assemblies and PCBs.
  • Demonstrated experience creating Technical Data Packages (TDPs) for RF and Electrical applications.
  • Experience designing and developing power-based hardware solutions.
  • Possess a current DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience developing RF components in lab and shipboard environments.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB, SimuLink, MathCAD.
  • Experience in Threat System Analysis and RF signals processing.
  • Knowledge of sensor signal processing and signal detection.
  • Experience integrating sensor, shooter, and command and control systems.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and supervising junior RF Engineers.
