About the position

The Electrical Controls Engineer at Howmet Aerospace will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing electrical systems and controls within the HIP and Ti-Cast Operations. This role requires a systems thinker who can anticipate issues, drive continuous improvement, and influence stakeholders effectively. The engineer will work on various electrical projects, ensuring the integration of automation and control systems to enhance operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and modify existing Wonderware / Ignition HMI systems.
  • Manage interactions with contractors for design, costing, quoting, and executing electrical systems and automation upgrades.
  • Coordinate and support the installation of various electrical system projects.
  • Provide engineering support for both internally and externally designed projects.
  • Handle technical issues related to facilities electrical distribution and manufacturing process controls.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous electrical/programming experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Facility Electrical Power distribution planning (12470Vac - 120Vac).
  • Project PLC programming experience.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Maintenance Management experience.
  • Continuous Process Improvement (i.e. Six Sigma Cert).
  • HMI programming experience.
  • Experience with Rockwell Automation Allen Bradley PLC & RSLogix programming software.
  • Experience with Inductive Automation Ignition SCADA.
  • Experience with Rockwell Automation Factory Talk SCADA.
  • Experience with Aveva / Wonderware SCADA.
  • Knowledge of Electrical distribution systems for voltage below 600V.
  • Proficient user of AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical or Solidworks Electrical.
  • Experience with industrial robots, Motoman or other.
  • Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E and NFPA 79 codes.
