About the position

The Controls Engineer will lead the design, modernization, and installation oversight of control systems for specialty manufacturing clients. This role focuses on developing and implementing advanced automation solutions to enhance performance and efficiency in various industrial settings.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deploy PLC-based automation control systems, integrating motion control, sensors, VFD drives, and actuators.
  • Provide ongoing support for existing systems, troubleshooting and ensuring seamless functionality.
  • Program Level 1 control systems based on function descriptions and layouts.
  • Collaborate with project teams, internal experts, and customers to engineer solutions for technical challenges.
  • Conduct comprehensive testing and simulation of systems prior to delivery.
  • Execute on-site commissioning and training sessions as required.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with PLCs, programming, and troubleshooting.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering (with I&E/control system emphasis), or equivalent significant work experience in the field.
  • Experience with Siemens TIA Portal and Rockwell RSLogix5000 is preferred.
  • Familiarity with WinCC, Wonderware InTouch, or FactoryTalk HMI systems is preferred.
  • Ability to apply engineering principles to solve design problems.
  • Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Siemens TIA Portal and Rockwell RSLogix5000.
  • Familiarity with WinCC, Wonderware InTouch, or FactoryTalk HMI systems.
