The Connection Systems North America (CS NA) team at Aptiv is seeking a talented Electrical Controls Engineer to join our innovative workforce. This position is pivotal in providing on-site electrical engineering support within the compound extrusion operation. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of the Manufacturing Engineering General Supervisor and will be responsible for identifying and implementing improvements in manufacturing systems, as well as aligning new technologies within the compound extrusion industry. This role is essential for enhancing production processes and ensuring the efficiency of operations. As an Electrical Controls Engineer, you will be tasked with troubleshooting process issues in collaboration with skilled tradesmen, thereby maintaining the integrity of production processes. You will also be responsible for improving manufacturing processes by identifying daily challenges such as error-proofing quality, enhancing uptime, increasing cycle speed, and reducing waste. Your expertise in metal stamping operations control systems will be crucial, particularly in areas such as vision system programming, terminal presses, and winding equipment. In addition to these responsibilities, you will manage project needs by obtaining quotes, writing purchase requisitions, and maintaining control over project spending for both new equipment and revisions to existing equipment. Effective communication will be key, as you will need to convey project statuses through various channels including verbal communication, electronic presentations, and email. You will also develop planned maintenance procedures and support plant maintenance activities, ensuring that you stay current on new technologies within the stamping industry that can enhance manufacturing systems. It is important to adhere to all Aptiv Corporate, Connection Systems, and local procedures throughout your work.
