About the position

Mead & Hunt, Inc. is seeking an experienced electrical/controls engineer to design and oversee electrical and controls engineering projects. This role involves preparing plans and specifications, providing construction administration, and mentoring junior staff while coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers. The position requires some travel and a strong background in electrical engineering, particularly in water/wastewater facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Design electrical and controls engineering projects.
  • Prepare plans and specifications of electrical systems for bidding and construction.
  • Provide construction administration and conduct site visits.
  • Mentor staff and coordinate work between subcontractors, teaming partners, and suppliers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in electrical or architectural engineering (with an electrical emphasis) from an accredited college or university.
  • At least six (6) years of relevant electrical and controls engineering experience.
  • Experience designing electrical and control systems for public or industrial water/wastewater facilities.
  • Experience designing water/wastewater collection/treatment control equipment and systems.
  • Proficiency in designing electrical systems using power analysis software (EasyPower and/or SKM Power Tools) and lighting calculation software (Visual Lighting, AGI32, or ElumTools).
  • Experience designing instrumentation and control equipment and programmable logic controller (PLC) systems.
  • Knowledge of codes, statutes, standards, and laws related to building design and construction.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Revit.
  • Experience with bidding and construction phase and commissioning services.
  • Experience with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) or Design-Build project delivery methods.
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain one within 12 months of hire.
