About the position

The Electrical Controls Engineer position at Dematic involves designing, implementing, and commissioning engineering projects related to controls engineering. The role requires a strong background in PLC communications and equipment management software, along with the ability to create schematic and panel assembly drawings. The engineer will work primarily Monday through Friday, with additional hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Completes recommendations for ideas related to productivity improvement, cost reduction, and improvement in customer satisfaction.
• Performs complex technical interchange and knowledge transfer for both processes and application of products to system operation and design.
• Performs a full range of standard work for the professional field.
• Identifies and resolves more complex problems and applies problem-solving skills to deal with various situations.

Requirements

• BS/BA in electrical engineering or an advanced degree.
• 5+ years of successful experience in related field.
• Demonstrates and applies a broad knowledge of field of specialization through successful completion of complex assignments.
• Demonstrates knowledge of organization's business practices and issues.
• Proficient in Allen Bradley, Rockwell, or Siemens PLCs.
• Knowledgeable on AC drives, both open & closed loop.
• Experience in Ethernet IP network design and machine safety.

Nice-to-haves

• Proficient in AutoCAD.
• Experience in scanning devices using photo recognition and/or placement photo eyes.
• Experience with data mining of SQL Server, Solar Winds, Big Query, or an equivalent database.
