This position requires a hands-on approach, utilizing both hand tools and power tools to assemble and install electrical equipment and panels. The role also involves the installation of raceways for equipment, which includes wire ways, cable troughs, EMT, IMC, and rigid conduit. Adherence to safety protocols and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements is essential, as is the ability to handle materials safely, including the operation of pallet jacks and potentially forklifts or overhead cranes. In addition to technical skills, the Electrical Controls Specialist must work collaboratively with team members to ensure projects are completed efficiently and on time. Maintaining a clean and organized work area is also a key responsibility. The use of various tools and equipment, such as measuring devices, power tools, conduit benders, and testing equipment like multi-meters and ohmmeters, is integral to the role. Basic computer skills are necessary, along with knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and electrical/industrial controls. The position requires attention to detail, the ability to follow directions, and a strong motivation to learn and succeed in the role.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and install electrical wiring of equipment and panels using hand tools or power tools.
  • Install raceways for equipment including wire way, cable trough, EMT, IMC, and rigid conduit.
  • Follow all safety and PPE requirements per established company policies.
  • Handle materials for in-process work and finished goods, including operation of pallet jacks and potentially forklifts or overhead cranes.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and on time.

  • Utilize a variety of tools or equipment, such as measuring devices, power tools, conduit benders, and testing equipment such as multi-meters and ohmmeters.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in electrical wiring and piping.
  • Knowledge of electrical schematics and blueprints is preferred.
  • Timely and dependable work ethic.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow directions well and a desire to learn.
  • Motivated and determined to work hard and complete tasks successfully.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

Nice-to-haves
