About the position

The Electrical Controls Specialist at Six Flags is responsible for supervising and participating in the inspection, maintenance, and repair of ride control systems to ensure safe and efficient operations. This role involves assisting in the installation and upgrading of Allen Bradley ride control systems throughout the park, while also performing various technical and supervisory duties as required.

Responsibilities

• Ensures rides are maintained according to manufacturer, Company, and state guidelines for safety.
• Interacts and communicates with various groups including supervisors, park managers, staff, guests, and contractors.
• Uses a variety of tools and supplies, including electrician tools, meters, and power tools.
• Operates equipment such as vehicles, snorkel lifts, and computers.
• Refers to policy manuals, maintenance manuals, technical manuals, and blueprints.
• Prepares and processes maintenance reports, purchase orders, and modification forms.
• Receives and reviews maintenance requests and reports, schematics, and safety sheets.
• Coordinates activities with other departments and crews as necessary.
• Oversees outside controls contractors as the Owner Representative to ensure compliance with standards.
• Assists in maintaining documentation of ride control systems.
• Coordinates and performs annual preventative maintenance of ride control systems.
• Maintains integrity of existing ride control programs and checks for discrepancies annually.
• Maintains a working copy of existing control system software and updates as necessary.

Requirements

• Ability to use spreadsheet, database, and AutoCAD computer systems.
• Extensive knowledge of PLC's, motor drives, and display units.
• Ability to pass a mandatory drug test as per Company policy.
• Ability to pass a background check for applicants 18 years or older.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Valid Driver's License.
