About the position

The Electrical Craftsperson role at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew involves delivering Electrical Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and Reactive maintenance services. The position is crucial for ensuring the care and protection of the collections and maintaining the buildings to be fit for purpose. The role requires effective consultation and collaboration with stakeholders to prioritize tasks and resolve any conflicting demands.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver Electrical Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and Reactive maintenance services.
  • Perform fault finding and remedial repairs on electrical systems.
  • Conduct new installation works as required.
  • Provide professional advice on electrical maintenance and installations.
  • Ensure effective consultation and collaboration with stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Educated to City & Guilds in electrical installation or equivalent.
  • Considerable hands-on technical experience with single and 3 phase electrical distribution and repairs.
  • Proven knowledge and capability to diagnose faults on electrical and mechanical equipment in large commercial properties.
  • Training to BS7671 standard with 18th Edition.
