About the position

GHT is looking for a motivated Electrical Design Engineer to join their team, focusing on electrical power distribution design for commercial office building projects. The role involves working on various electrical systems, ensuring compliance with codes and standards, and contributing to client satisfaction. Responsibilities

  • Design electrical systems for commercial office buildings, including utility coordination, lighting systems, power distribution, fire alarm systems, and standby electrical systems.
  • Prepare electrical construction documentation and ensure compliance with building and electrical codes, energy codes, and NFPA standards.
  • Collaborate with MEP teams and manage workflow on multiple projects, delegating tasks as necessary.
  • Conduct site visits to job sites, carrying equipment and materials as needed.
  • Provide training and mentoring to junior engineers and team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET-accredited college or university.
  • Approximately three to five years of experience in Electrical Power Distribution Design.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in electrical design for commercial office building projects.
  • Working knowledge of building, electrical codes, energy codes, and applicable NFPA standards.
  • Strong visual, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice-to-haves

  • Professional Engineering License is a plus.
  • LEED accreditation is preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with Revit modeling is desirable.
